The Christopher Reeve Paralysis
Foundation (CRPF)

The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation (CRPF) encourages and supports research to develop effective treatments and a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other central nervous system disorders. The Foundation evaluates and selects these research programs using councils of internationally renowned neuroscientists and clinicians. The Foundation also allocates a portion of its resources to grants that improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.

National Spinal Cord Injury Association

The National Spinal Cord Injury Association is the nation's oldest and largest civilian organization dedicated to helping the hundreds of thousands of Americans coping with the results of spinal cord injury and disease.
Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center

The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center is a 72-bed facility nationally recognized for rehabilitation of stroke, spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. It is named in honor of actress Patricia Neal, a long-time Knoxville resident who overcame the disabling effects of three massive strokes to return to her acting career.

Craig Hospital

Craig Hospital in Denver has long been recognized as a premier national center of excellence in the specialty rehabilitation and research for patients with spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury. Craig has treated more than 23,000 patients since 1956 - more than any other single facility in the world - and has been rated every year in the Top Ten Rehabilitation Hospitals by US News and World Report since the ratings began. In 2000, patients came to Craig from 44 states and several countries to take advantage of their expertise and experience.

The Brain Injury Association (BIA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with brain injury and their families as well as promoting prevention of brain injury. The website offers information, education, advocacy, support, and prevention. The BIA consists of 42 state associations, 200 chapters, and over 800 support groups across the U.S.

The TBI Resource Guide from the Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS) is a main source of information, services, and products relating to traumatic brain injury, brain injury recovery, and post-acute rehabilitation. Website features "Inside View" online newsletter and book of the week.
 
National Information Center for Children
and Youth with Disabilities

Website devoted to providing information on disabilities for families, educators, and other professionals. Special focus is on children and youth (birth to age 22). Services include personal responses to specific questions, publications, referrals to other disability organizations, and information searches of their own library and databases. Information is also provided in Spanish.
National Rehabilitation Information
Center (NARIC)

This organization is funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) to serve anyone, professional or layperson, who is interested in disability and rehabilitation. Provides 60,000 disability-related records regarding literature, organizations, timely information, and research in five databases. Also lists projects funded by NIDRR.
National Resource Center for
Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury website produced by the Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. Includes guides for survivors; families, friends, and caregivers; living and working productively; and rehabilitation providers. Also provides TBI frequently asked questions (FAQs), chat with Pat, and directory of experts.

A federation of national and international organizations working for the "prevention of disability, the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and the equalization of opportunities within society." RI is composed of 200 organizations in 90 nations across the world.
